Client Introduction:

Lyrically Correct approached our team with a challenge many content creators face: despite building a dedicated following on TikTok with their music trivia game where they bring family and friends together to experience nostalgia, they were struggling to generate revenue on the platform. At the time, they relied solely on TikTok's Creator Marketplace, influencer pitching and occasional brand sponsorships, resulting in modest earnings of approximately $1,500 per month. Frustrated by inconsistent income and limited monetization options, they sought our expertise to develop a sustainable revenue model that wouldn't compromise their authentic connection with their audience or require constantly chasing one-off brand deals. They specifically wanted to leverage their influence in the music game space while creating a scalable income stream beyond their content creation capacity on TikTok.  

The Process:

Our approach began with a comprehensive audience analysis, which revealed that 78% of their followers were music enthusiasts actively seeking ways to build connection with friends and family. This insight guided our dual affiliate strategy and collaborative approach with their ads team. First, we optimized their participation in TikTok's native affiliate program by redesigning their content strategy to naturally incorporate affiliate-eligible products and shop videos. We developed various series to pique the interest of their audience that showcased the essence of the music-trivia game. Simultaneously, we built a custom in-house affiliate program specifically designed for creator partners to receive earnings up to 20% for promoting the music trivia deck and gameplay. Alongside their ads team we began to utilize TikTok Spark Codes to assist with ad creation and drive more targeted traffic to the TikTok shop. This proprietary system included a tiered commission structure, branded link generators, content template ideas, and comprehensive analytics. We personally recruited more than 6,000 micro-influencers on TikTok and in-house affiliate program (VIBE TRIBE) to beta test the affiliate program, prioritizing engagement quality over follower count. As the network grew, we implemented community-building initiatives including private groups, personal one-on-one meetings with top creators, and gamification elements that transformed the program from transactional to relationship-based. Throughout the process, we continuously refined our approach using data-driven insights, optimizing commission structures, and scaling the highest-converting content formats while maintaining the authentic, value-driven tone that built their original audience.

The Results:

The impact of our dual affiliate strategy was transformative. Lyrically Correct's revenue grew from a modest $1,500 monthly to generating a total of over $500,000 from May through December 2024. This significant growth represented a remarkable transformation in their business model and monetization capability within just eight months. Their affiliate network expanded from zero to thousands of active promoters with an exceptional conversion rate of 4.8% (compared to the industry average of 1-2%) and an affiliate retention rate of 82% which generated to more than 1.5 million tracked clicks through affiliated content and more than 8,000 first-time customers. Revenue distribution showed the affiliate program generating more than 50% of the company’s total direct-to-consumer revenue, contributing 30%, Spark Code-assisted ads driving 15%, and in-house affiliate channel accounting for 5%. The most significant achievement was creating a self-sustaining ecosystem where multiple revenue streams operated simultaneously, allowing Lyrically Correct to focus on content quality while their affiliate network and Spark Code-enhanced ads continuously expanded their reach and impact, working synergistically to drive engagement and conversions across other platforms like Amazon.
